CITY PROPOSES REDUCING PARKING SPOTS

“theory that more people will take buses and light rail”

The Seattle Times reports today that…

“Seattle city planners are recommending that the city eliminate parking requirements for new developments within a quarter-mile of frequent transit. ”  “Before 2007, the city generally required that new developments outside of downtown provide parking for people who would live or do business there.”

The new regulations will almost certainly reduce available on street parking in a city already squeezed for parking spaces.  Read the entire article HERE.
