Israeli Athlete wins Medal, No Hatikva? No Problem!

Organizers of a para- rowing competition in Italy apparently didn’t take into consideration the possibility that the Israeli contender, Moran Samuel, would win the competition, so a recording of the Israeli national anthem, “Hatikvah,” was not brought to the awards ceremony. The Italian organizers substituted the anthem of another nation. Moran would have none of it and asked that the unfamiliar melody be stopped.  Moran  has overcome far greater obstacles in her life, and knew very well how to turn a challenge into victory.  In a display of cool, controlled dignity she requested  the microphone from the master of ceremonies and began singing the national anthem on her own. An inspirational must watch. [Click link to video HERE]
