JEWISH STUDENT BLOCKED FROM CROSSING UW CAMPUS
Video shows cross-wearing pro-Hamas activists stopping Jewish student from entering public walkway. Student surrounded and detained by Hamas thugs. Israeli flag stolen and desecrated.
A Jewish student carrying an Israeli flag was blocked by masked pro-Hamas activists from walking across the campus of the University of Washington yesterday. A video posted to X by radio personality Ari Hoffman showed a young man on public property being physically blocked by several individuals displaying prominent Christian crosses. The Jewish student is heard telling the activists that “I’m just trying to walk around my own campus”. When still denied access to the walkway, the Jewish student explains “I have the right to walk across my campus”, to which the antisemitic activists respond “I have the right to say no to your request”. One of the individuals impeding the Jewish student, wearing a large red cross across his hoodie, was identified by journalist Jonathan Choe as Seattle Public School employee Gabriel Jones.
The video concludes with muscular thugs in Hamas garb surrounding the lone Jewish student and joining hands, imprisoning him inside their clasp. (See photos below).
Earlier that day on the same campus, a pro-Hamas activist stole an Israeli flag from a student and then proceeded to rip it apart. The entire incident was captured on video. Again, UW police did not step in.
UW leaders were informed well in advance of the plan by pro-Hamas students to take over portions of the UW campus this week, yet UW police and administration took no visible steps to protect the rights and safety of Jewish students. The scene, more reminiscent of 15th-century Spain or 20th Century Nazi Germany than 21st Century Seattle, is disturbing to watch. For a generation raised on “Never Again, the physical absence of Jewish leaders, both communal and clergy is equally disturbing.
Why has not every local Rabbi and communal leader converged on the UW campus in support of our Jewish students? Imagine what a powerful message if Rabbis and organizational leaders marched together, arms locked, across the UW campus with besieged Jewish students as Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel walked alongside Martin Luther King Jr. Instead Jewish students have been largely abandoned during the greatest outbreak of antisemitism in decades while Jewish leaders throw them the occasional op-ed.

Mike,
Thank you for sharing this video. It is very disturbing.

What a load of twaddle! These are young people pleading for an end to Israeli genocide. There is no place for Jewish rabble rousers in this situation.
our Rabbis don’t have the kishkes
