Hundreds Show Support for Israel at Seattle Area Rally
The four corners of Bellevue Way and NE 8th street were packed this drizzly Sunday morning with an enthusiastic group of Israel supporters waving flags and signs declaring their backing of Israel. “Even though we are so far away from you guys, we stand with Israel” those were the words of Rachel Kaplan Sasoon and the shared sentiment of the over 350 Israel supporters assembled at the busy Bellevue crossroads.
Many of the signs at today’s rally criticized Palestinian leaders for inciting terror and world media for biased reporting. “It’s time for the world to stop excusing Palestinian terror” said Jeffrey Amon who carried a sign declaring “Israeli lives matter”. Fourteen year old Jacob Levy, garbed head to toe in Seahawks gear, said he came to make sure Israelis know “that we’re standing with them and they are not alone”.
The rally was organized by Rob Jacobs, the Pacific NW director of Israel advocacy organization, StandWithUs. “To attract between 350-400 people on a rainy Sunday morning” said Jacobs, “is a terrific statement of support for Israel”.
