Paltry Crowd Fails to Block Israeli Ship at Seattle Port

For the past two weeks the pro-Hamas Twittersphere and Facebook universe have been all abuzz about the latest tactic in the domestic war against the Jewish state, something they call Block The Boat (or #blocktheboat). The goal according to their nonstop social media PR machine is to block Israeli commerce from entering US ports by preventing Israeli ships from offloading their cargo. Following embarrassing efforts in the Bay Area and a complete flop in Tacoma, the block the boat circus finally made it to the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 18 on Harbor Island where the Zim Chicago was scheduled to dock this afternoon.
How to win friends and influence people.
Demonstrators began to arrive around 3:45pm and at their height numbered about seventy. What they lacked in numbers though, they made up for in unrestrained obnoxiousness. The pro-Hamas activists taunted and provoked police officers and harassed the hard working truckers and union workers who depend on the port for their livelihood.
Screaming in a glass shattering high decibel voice, a woman self identified as Mary Jane ordered truckers to turn off their vehicles and to honor their picket line. Her pleas were universally ignored as truckers and dock workers pressed through the thin cordon. Eventually law enforcement offered the terror-groupies the choice of getting off the street or facing arrest. One chose arrest, the rest reluctantly complied.
“Is this far enough?! Is this far enough!”
Officers were pelted with epithets, one protester screamed “what the hell are you doing you f*cking pig!” Another offered a police officer the one finger salute.
The entire fiasco from beginning to end was broadcast on a livestream feed. We are not kidding when we say the narrator of the Livestream feed (Mary Jane) should win an Emmy in the category most annoying thing since fingernails on a chalk board. Shouting out every single officer’s name and badge number in a faux-military monotone, Mary Jane was at her most grating as she taunted officers when they asked her to move back, not moving at all but shouting “is this far enough? Is this far enough?” Excedrin sales must soar wherever this woman appears. Kudos to officer Long who displayed the patience of a saint for this intemperate whiner.
When one punk was offered the choice of being arrested or getting out of the street he sweetly responded “I’m not going to cooperate with a f*cking system that is f*cking fascist”.
Anti-Israel Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) was well represented with Eitan Isaacson, Eva Dale and Wendy Elisheva Somerson (and two or three others) sporting their white on black “shut down Israel’s war machine” riot-wear T-shirts. They did not seem at all bothered as one anti-Zionist (not anti-Semitic) demonstrator shrieked that the “the police want us off the street while children in Gaza are being killed by f*cking Nazis”. Nor did they bat an eyelash at chants of “long live the intifada!”.
JVP was well represented. The radical group is recognized as an official community organization by the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle in their Guide to Jewish Washington.
The Circus is in town.
Also present were the local anti-Israel regulars including Ed Mast and Antioch University professor and terror apologist Nada Elia. Elia justified the Hamas terror war on Israel telling a KIRO 7 reporter that “There is a legal right to resistance” by which she means killing a four year old boy with a mortar and lynching three Jewish teens is just fine.

On a side note, the SPD did a wonderful job of keeping the peace, additionally not one dockworker honored the pathetic minor league bullying of these pro-terror sycophants. I mean, did they really think they could intimidate the Teamsters?’

A police officer informed us that the Zim Chicago unloaded exactly on schedule and the punk antics of the pro-terror crowd had “zero impact” on port operations.
River to Sea? But wait a minute, that would mean the elimination of the Jewish state.
The protest was pretty much finished by 6:00 pm a few stragglers stuck around and schmoozed until about 7ish. Just as the last of the Israel haters left the scene a news van arrived to an empty sidewalk (photo below).

I was dreading what “blocktheboats’ might do to embarrass our country internationally, so I am very glad to read this report. Loved that the employees got to work on time even though the demonstrators were desperate to give their presence some credibility through falsely thinking that they are a “picket line”. Even though these demonstrators puff themselves up as having Union influence, they only have minimal Union support as far as I can tell (in a few occupations like teachers and government workers). I join with you in acknowledging the achievements of our Seattle Police Department.
P.S. Where was the community organizer Kshama Sawant? One would expect her to want to lead out with these bad behavior tactics. Anyway, she gives it her tacit support:

These people are being used by [Islamist radicals] and they don’t know it. I would love to give them some TRUE facts, but wonder if they can read. Because if they could read,it would seem wise to research an issue before going out in public using profanity in an attempt to win support. Here are some inconvenient facts:
1. the Arabs in pre-state mandate Palestine affiliated with the Nazis in WWII, as the grand mufti of Jerusalem then was a friend and cohort of Hitler. He was trying to do Hitler’s job in Palestine, as Hitler wasn’t able to go there. So the true historically factual middle east Nazis are the PA.
2. There is no occupation by Israel in Gaza. Fact: in 2005, all Jews living in Gaza were kicked out by Israel in an attempt to give the land to the Arabs and bring about some peace.
3. The IDF is not fighting the so-called “Palestinians” in Gaza, but Hamas, a terrorist organization which kills more Gazans than the IDF. If the Gazans were allowed to speak their minds, they would most likely choose Israel to administer the area. Before Israel pulled their citizens out, many of Gaza’s citizens worked for Israeli businesses. The people were much better off before.
4. The true occupiers are Hamas, Gaza is NOT Palestine, and in truth, Israel is actually trying to liberate the Gazans from terrorists.
