It’s not fair! say Hamas supporters
Bereft of any moral argument for the targeting of civilian population centers with (so far) over 1000 rockets, Hamas supporters have taken up the “it’s not fair!” argument so familiar to any parent with children between the ages of two and six. It goes something like this… “It’s not fair that your missiles (and Iron Dome) work and our rockets suck! It’s not fair that you got to kill more of us than we killed of you!”.
Here is what it looks like.
The argument taken to its illogical conclusion is that Israel needs to put her citizens in harms way in order to gain the moral high ground. A bizarre and gruesome competition if you will, to see who can get their own civilian death toll higher than the other. This is a game the Israelis are not willing to play.
There is no better argument for Israel’s moral superiority than her desire to preserve the lives of her own citizens while minimizing as best as possible the civilian casualties of her enemies.
I sincerely hope Muslims will begin to ask themselves, “Why can’t Allah overcome the God of the Jews?” Then, they should ask, “Why do we profess there is one god, yet say the Jews have a different God?” After that they should ask themselves, “If we all love God and want to serve Him, the one true God, why are we killing each other?”
There is only one Prince of Peace: Jesus, the Messiah promised by Abraham. He is the Redeemer for Jew, Arab, and gentile alike.
This is the common ground: We are all sons of Abraham – in spirit and not in blood only – if we believe God and obey God. That includes acknowledging that Jesus is the Son of God and the fulfillment of God’s promise to provide salvation.
